Hi, I'm Melkia Lynita. I currently reside in Maryland with my wonderful supportive husband Brian, my dynamic son Sean and a host of family and friends. Melkia Lynita Styles is a blog I started to share my personal style with you through what I wear, my thoughts and the things I love: family, fitness and life. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD I enjoy all my city has to offer - diversity, great restaurants, great shops especially the local small businesses, UTZ potato chips and crabs. I enjoy eating UTZ potato chips every now and than and I have withdrawals when I travel to other states because UTZ isn't offered all over the county (if you haven't had UTZ, you are missing out). But more in importantly I love eating crabs and in my house we eat them all year long. Pizza is my all time favorite and we have many places that offer great pizza. At times you just may catch me out and about eating a good slice and if I could have it everyday I would, but I don't want the dough sitting on my hips.
I didn't go to school for fashion or makeup artistry, but I love putting my best foot forward and expressing myself through fashion and helping others to express themselves with the gifts and talents God gave me. Since a young age I have experimented in sewing clothes with my mom and grandmother, I taught my sister Lee how to do hair (the licensed cosmetologist), taught women the importance of skin care as a former Mary Kay Sales Director, and inspired others to live a healthy lifestyle and achieve health and fitness goals. See as the oldest of six children, my parents taught us how to be resourceful, make things work with what you have, have fun but most importantly help others. Although, I enjoyed these things and still do, I obtained an undergraduate degree in Accounting and a MBA and pursued an accounting/tax auditing career. My full-time job is a Senior Diversity and Inclusion Advisor. I am also a licensed Minister and during the evenings and weekend I'm a blogger. For me it's always God first, Family second, and Career third.
