Red, White and Blue Chucks

As I celebrate July 4th, I remember my dad wearing Converse All Star "Chuck Taylor"
basketball shoe when he was running up and down the basketball court shooting lay ups and jumpers or playing with us at the play ground. I also remember how he took good care of them, ensuring that they always looked fresh.
We knew not to mess with the tennis shoe with the star on the side, but each one of us always found a way to put our little feet in them while taking turns watching out for dad, because we didn't want to get caught.
One day when we got older, he told us he knew we use to play in his shoe and we all just smiled. Now what amazes me is that many years later, the Chuck Taylor is still his favorite and many around the world.
Named after basketball player Charles H. Taylor who also loved wearing and sharing his love of the shoe with others, the Converse All Star shoe is the oldest, most popular, and all time best selling basketball shoe of all time. Although this shoe was introduced to the world as a basketball shoe, it is worn today off of the basketball court showing people's creativity, personal style, and individuality.

I have a few pair in my closet and Converse continues to redesign this affordable shoe with fun patterns and colors while keeping it's basic shoe design - you can even custom design a pair - how cool is that? Check out a few cool styles at Converse or Nordstrom
